As co-founder and owner, Denise Clelan’s business acumen and strategic insight have been instrumental in making Clelan and Company one of the top financial advising firms in the region.
Denise received her ChFC designation in 1991 and has supported clients with top-level business strategies and solutions for nearly 40 years. Providing guidance to highly successful professionals and entrepreneurs, clients value her ability to actively listen, identify goals and map out a strategic plan.
Beginning her financial services career in 1983, Denise qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table1 her first year in the business and has qualified for this national honor more than 34 times since. Active in her industry and community, Denise has served on the Board of the Harrisburg Area YWCA, as Finance Committee Chairperson and Board Member for Wesley Affiliated Services, Inc., and as a Board or Committee person for a number of other organizations in central Pennsylvania.
Denise has volunteered her time for many local charities including United Cerebral Palsy and the Central PA Multiple Sclerosis Society. She served as Vice-President of the Harrisburg Society of Financial Service Professionals and earned the distinction of being the first woman in more than 75 years to become President of the Harrisburg Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Denise served on the Board of the Keystone Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, a 720-member organization, for nine years, including two as Treasurer. In 2006, Denise served as Chairwoman of the Board of the Keystone Chapter. She was the first woman to hold this position in the Chapter's 47 year history. A member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Golden Key National Honor Society, Denise Clelan graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University in 1980.

Co-founder and owner, Doug Clelan has more than 40 years’ experience helping closely-held business owners, professionals, and high net-worth individuals achieve their financial ambitions. Doug supports clients in complex retirement program design, business succession and transfer issues, and customized investment programs for both business and individual clients. Doug is relationship-oriented and client-centered, providing a real human touch to all who work with him.
And as of July 1, 2015, Doug's rigorous studies, business experience, and ethics earned him the professional designation of Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) from the American College, Bryn Mawr, PA. Individuals who earn the RICP can offer specialized advice on a broad range of topics including income needs and objectives, estate issues, Social Security, health insurance, and investment strategies. Doug also holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation, lending additional credibility to his work with individuals and corporate retirement plan sponsors. The AIF designation provides a framework for helping clients meet important fiduciary responsibilities.
Outside the office, Doug is known for his interest and service to his community and his industry. He is past President of the Harrisburg Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the South Central Pennsylvania Chapter of General Agents and Managers, as well as the local Society of Financial Service Professionals. Doug also served as a board member of the Pennsylvania Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and as President of the Central Pennsylvania Estate Planning Council. In 1996, Doug was honored with his local professional association’s prestigious President’s Award. This award was presented to Doug for his professionalism and for his contributions to the Central PA community.
Doug’s community service has involved work at the West Shore Chamber of Commerce, YMCA and Sertoma Club. Doug formerly served as Finance Committee Chairman for his church. He has been a featured speaker on the subjects of comprehensive financial planning with an emphasis on creative income planning, as well as estate planning and investment management at numerous industry meetings and educational forums.
Doug began his financial services career in 1974, and attained the CLU designation in 1981 and the Chartered Financial Consultant designation in 1983. Doug graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1973 with a degree in economics.

Senior Wealth Advisor with Clelan and Company, Andrew has nearly 15 years’ experience and prides himself on helping clients define their financial dreams and collaborates to help clients achieve them. Andrew provides clients with specific retirement income distribution plans, unique and customized investment strategies, and estate planning techniques.
Andrew’s commitment to comprehensive financial planning and rigorous studying has earned him several designations including Certified Financial Planner CFP®, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor CRPC, Chartered Financial Consultant ChFC, and Accredited Investment Fiduciary AIF.
Andrew serves on the board of Central Pennsylvania’s Estate Planning Council and is an active member in the Financial Planning Association. He was recently featured on the cover of Proactive Advisor Magazine highlighting his income distribution strategies and diversified investment management techniques.
Giving back to his local community is a big passion for Andrew and his wife, Alissa. He has been an active participant in the Big Brother, Big Sister program for many years. They are active with St. Vincent DePaul Society with their local church. Andrew and Alissa created the Michael J. Santanna Jr. Achievement Foundation whose primary purpose is to provide scholarships for struggling students in Dauphin County. Andrew also supports the American Cancer Society and several other organizations.
Andrew earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from James Madison University where he also played on their football team. At JMU, he met his wife and best friend, Alissa. They have three children, Mia, Max, and Kylie, and reside in Harrisburg. Andrew is an avid sports fan and enjoys travelling, reading, golf, and exercise.

Brenda joined Clelan and Company in 2006 and is life and health insurance licensed. As such, she oversees the implementation and servicing of annuities and risk management products including life, long term care, and disability insurance, and is a resource for Medicare enrollment questions. Additionally, Brenda prepares the material for client meetings by obtaining client updates, researching information, and compiling pertinent data and reports. She handles the implementation of new investment accounts, prepares annual contracts and invoices, and ensures that clients over 70 meet their minimum distribution requirements. Internally, Brenda handles a variety of duties including maintaining advisor licenses and staying current on new product offerings.
Brenda is a graduate of both Elizabethtown and Goldey Beacom Colleges, lives in New Cumberland, and has two adult children. She is an active member of her church as well as the treasurer. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, and activities such as hiking, biking, and kayaking. Brenda also loves to travel and enjoys hearing about your travel adventures.

With many years’ experience connecting people with resources and information in the not-for-profit world, Susan’s talents for managing projects and delivering superior customer service are being fully utilized in her role at Clelan and Company. Susan is responsible for creating our retirement plan client meeting presentations by synthesizing data and information. She also assures that all action items from those meetings are completed and any additional client servicing needs are met. Coordinating logistics between plan providers and our clients, as well as scheduling plan-related meetings, seminars, and other events round out Susan’s day-to-day responsibilities.
Susan is a graduate of the University of Michigan and enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors. She lives in Mechanicsburg with her husband and two daughters and is an active member of her church.

Jean joined the financial services industry in 2014, after a successful career in court reporting and in the travel industry. She makes it a priority to provide best in class service to our clients every single day. Jean is the primary point of contact for Andrew’s clients. She schedules appointments and will answer general questions. She supports Andrew with administrative tasks, marketing, communication, new account processing and ensures our efforts are in full corporate compliance. Jean lives in the Hershey area and loves spending time with family and friends, reading, and traveling.

As a seasoned administrative and marketing professional, Wendy’s talents are being employed in many areas within the firm. Wendy is the primary point of contact for appointment scheduling for Doug and Denise’s clients. She is also responsible for handling day-to-day office administration responsibilities. Through marketing efforts and the implementation of strategic projects, Wendy is charged with continuing to expand opportunities for Clelan and Company and our clients. In addition, Wendy is responsible for managing our firm’s compliance requirements and technology initiatives.
Wendy is a summa cum laude graduate of Delaware Valley College who currently resides in Palmyra with her husband and two cats. She enjoys spending time with her family and serving in church ministries, as well as hiking, camping, cooking, and sewing.
